Woke this morning to the morning doves cooing and sun shining - trees are already budding and we have broken 147 year records for no 'measurable" snow in our neighborhood for the months of January and February - that is uncalled of for the Chicago area! We have been experiencing thunder storms and tornadoes already, we were blessed to have missed the devastating tornadoes the other night but others in our area were not. Please keep our neighboring towns that were hit in your thoughts and prayers. We are quite low on quilts and pillowcases for our "Quilts of Comfort" program and we will need your help to replenish so we can reach out to those in great need. Sew-in dates are listed below in our "Quilts of Comfort" schedule section.
Upcoming classes are also listed below - as always if you see a class session you like but the offered time does not fit your schedule give me a call and we can add a session. If you have suggestions please be sure to let me know.
If you have not had a chance to stop in the shop to see our one fabric wall remodel please do - I just love it, not to mention how many more bolts we have been able to display! We have also added an addition unit with Christmas fabrics. HHQ keeps Christmas all year long in fabrics, patterns, samples and spirit!

7.  DANCE OF THE DRAGONFLIES - 1 full day session
Join us in walking you through this beautiful design - we will have pre-cut pre-fused fabric packs available for the class which will reduce your cutting and fusing time giving you more assembly time. Fabric packs that are pre-cut and pre-fused must be pre-ordered and paid 2 weeks for prior to the class session ($140.00 includes pre-cut pre-fused fabric and background fabric). If you prefer to cut and fuse your own fabrics then that will be pre-class homework. Fabric background will be available in the Taupe (as pictured on the pattern) OR Gold (which is lighter).

8.  ARTISAN SPIRIT SHIMMER ECHOES LAP QUILT - 1 session
Come create a beautiful lap sized quilt using Northcott Artisan Spirit Shimmer Echoes panel and fabrics to match. This one should work up quickly and look stunning in any setting. The pattern that will be used is one of mine that will be in an upcoming collection of designs specifically made to use with panels. Sample in shop soon

10.  IT'S A WRAP Beginner - 1 session
Let's create beautiful hot pads using scrap strips of fabric and clothesline. Once you make these everyone will want them - great gifts. In this beginner session your will complete one 8"-10" round hot pad and also start an oval one. Uses are endless and no limit to the size you want to make - hot pads, coasters, place mats, center piece for table, runners, chair pads, rugs, etc.

11.  IT'S A WRAP SCRAP PARTY - 1 session
Have you already taken your It's a Wrap Beginner class - then how about some fun time at our scrap party - rules are simple - pay for one clothesline - come and sew yourself some hot pads, coasters, whatever, using my strips. We generate many strips and this is our way of letting you have some fun while helping us reduce our scrap bucket..... pretty simple and lots of fun.
COST: One Clothesline

QUILTS OF COMFORT - Sew-In Dates
Quilts of Comfort is a charity program Harvest House Quilting stated over 10 years ago when hurricane Katrina hit the gulf states. Since then we have provided many quilts and pillowcases to our not previously known "family" members. These folks have been devastated by horrible hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and fires and we, in an effort to provide a little comfort, warmth and love provide them with quilts and pillowcases stitched b many wonderful volunteers like yourself. Please consider helping us out with sewing, sorting, cutting and assembling our quilts and pillowcases on one or more of the following dates. Donations of 10" matching fabric squares and 9" batting squares always welcomed for the quilts, as well as cotton fabrics for pillowcases.
