Hasrvest House Quilting - SEW WHAT'S NEW

SEW WHAT'S NEW

February 27, 2016

Looking out the window this morning and nothing but beautiful blue skies with temps heading to the high 50's - it's the end of February and we have definitely had an early spring like Mr. Groundhog predicted - I just worry if we are going to have a late winter...I know many of you don't like the snow and cold but I do love the real 4 seasons and truly miss them when they skip around and miss us.  Prayers - NO snow for Easter, but a little white for a couple days and I would be like a kid....
I am blessed to have every new day that I am given!
How about we "leap" into our "spring" quilting and sewing projects and have some fun!

Important Announcement - Shop Hour Changes
Starting Monday - February 29th, we will be closed on Monday's - it has become more and more difficult to find time to take care of personal business, medical appointments, mini trips, shopping, etc,. in the evening when the shop closes, as by then, many of the things we need to take care of are not accessible.    I will continue to occasionally schedule Sally rentals on Mondays as needed - with so many renters we do not want anyone not to be able to get on the calendar.   Anyone already on the calendar for a Monday is good - I would never cancel you - with the exception of illness or emergency.   Please do not get nervous and think we are moving toward closing the shop - we are NOT closing!   We are just trying to give ourselves a day to do other things that need to be taken care of or for an occasional day trip ....   The web site has been changed to indicate our being closed Sundays and Mondays....  please feel free to call if you have a special need on one of those closed days and we will do our best to accommodate you!

Join us for a fun filled POST CARD PARTY SEW-IN DAY
This program is run by the same organizers as the Row by Row Experience.   We have the post card kits in the shop  - come and join us for a fun day of post card creating.  Gather up all those great scraps of fabric, yarn, ribbon, trims, buttons, what ever you have and join us for a fun day of creating.   Once the post cards are complete we will collect and mail them to "Post Card Central" for swapping - if you make one post card you would receive one post card from someone in another state/shop - if you make 10 you will receive 10!   Simple and fun way to connect with other quilters/sewers.  We are the only shop in Illinois to participate in the program, so you can be sure that your post card will be from another state!   All completed post cards will be mailed from HHQ to Post Card Central on March 26th.    Post Card Central will mail swapped cards back to HHQ - at which time we will schedule a "mail-call" gathering to distribute post cards to participants.   The sky is the limit and the designs are endless....  lets have some fun creating a mini project!
COST:  $12.00 - includes post card kit and pizza lunch
NEEDED:  sewing machine, general sewing supplies, glue, needle/thread, fabric, trim, yarn scraps, what ever you think might be great to use on your post card.
WHEN:  Saturday, March 5th - 10am - 3pm
